Childhood Obesity a Few Suggestions

Have you ever wondered why are our children becoming so fat? Perhaps it may be factors that are beyond there control, Childhood Obesity affect millions of children. Many experts feel that there are various causes such as heredity, glandular malfunctions, or hormonal imbalances that are creating generations of obese children. Many overweight children are not voracious eaters. However when it comes to the matter of childhood obesity, there are many opinions that conflict. Some experts will say " its metabolism" whereas other will say it's "heredity".

Whatever the reason we must come to grips that our children are becoming more obese. As one research team in London England found out that when both parents are obese, as many as 80 percent of their children are also overweight. Of course there are many remedies such as operations when dealing with childhood obesity such as ( removal of the small intestine) a drastic measure and one that is not recommended. Then some have tried self hypnosis, Weight Watchers, appetite suppressants, fad diets, as well as fasting.

However if we as parents use good sense and instruct our children on wholesome eating habits this can help in the fight of childhood obesity. If our children are overweight they should be prepared of a lifetime of adjustments in there eating habits. However eating habits is only a small part of the treatment of obese children. There is the matter of exercise, in which we can encourage our children to put down the mouse, or x-box and go outside and play ball run, jump, move there bodies.By encouraging them to take a 2 or 3 mile walk is also of real benefit . Here are some suggestions establish self discipline by cooking healthy meals for our children. Train our to eat slowly most overweight persons are fast eaters. Cut down on the cakes, pastries, soda, cookies. We need to roast of bake our foods first. Never fry out foods.Eat smaller portions and avoid seconds & thirds.

Try avoiding deserts like the plague. Snack on celery sticks, carrots, and fresh fruit. Develop the proper attitude about exercise, walk to store if at all possible, climb stairs instead of taking elevators. If we have children that are obese and they enjoy video games get them the type of games that move there bodies.

I can not over emphasize the importance of this matter of childhood obesity, dramatic increases in diabetes, heart disease, has according to the Obesity Task force reached epidemic proportions. Just an ounce of prevention can help save the lives of many obese children. Lets us continue to fight Childhood Obesity because it is literally killing our Children.
